The RenQuip RHINO-24P combats bolt-hole misalignment by applying controlled hydraulic force directly across the flange interface, pushing and pulling opposing tower sections back into true axial alignment.
Using a hydraulic cylinder, the tool exerts force on one flange while reacting against the bolt hole of the opposing flange, effectively redistributing the misalignment until the bolt holes are brought back into position.
With a reaction force of up to 240kN, the RHINO-24P overcomes the significant structural resistance found in large wind turbine tower sections, eliminating the need for unsafe, improvised methods such as drift pins or excessive mechanical forcing. Instead, it enables precise, incremental alignment at the point of greatest deviation, ensuring bolt holes can be matched accurately without introducing residual stress or damaging flange faces.
In practical terms, this means faster installation, reduced labour intensity, and a far safer alignment process – particularly in offshore or high-load environments where even minor misalignment can otherwise lead to delays, structural compromise, or long-term fatigue issues.
