Nut Splitters are used to remove nuts that are seized, corroded or have become damaged, preventing their removal by traditional methods.
A hydraulic piston in the body of the nut splitter pushes a chisel-type cutting blade into the flat of the nut with sufficient force to crack the nut – the tool is then rotated 180 degrees and the process is repeated. The nut can then be removed in two halves.
It is critical that the correct size of nut splitter is used for the nut that is to be split.
The HNS nut splitters are named by the across flats size of the applicable nut in mm:
- HNS1924 – AF nut size 19 to 24mm.
- HNS2432 – AF nut size 24 to 32mm.
- HNS3241 – AF nut size 32 to 41mm.
- HNS4150 – AF nut size 41 to 50mm.
- HNS5060 – AF nut size 50 to 60mm.
- HNS6075 – AF nut size 60 to 75mm.
